FLCLASS Term Series Investment Pools are pooled investment vehicles, offering investors a fixed rate of return and maturity date. These pools are designed to complement the daily liquidity of the FLCLASS prime-style fund, assisting Participants in optimizing their portfolios to better meet specific cash flow needs.
Term Series shares represent a beneficial interest in the underlying instruments of the pool, which may include bank deposits, government securities, and municipal securities. Term Series can invest in interest-bearing certificates of deposit and other bank obligations permitted by Florida law. Deposits are either FDIC-insured up to the maximum limit or fully collateralized by pledged securities or letters of credit from Federal Home Loan Banks for amounts exceeding FDIC insurance. Most term series are secured with an FHLB Letter of Credit, providing strong principal protection.

Term Series investments involve placing funds with FDIC/NCUA-insured institutions for a specific term. While deposits within FDIC/NCUA limits are insured, any amounts exceeding these limits are secured through collateral such as Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) Letters of Credit or pledged securities. This collateralization aligns with state statutes, investment policies, and information statements, ensuring principal protection even for large deposits.
The primary risk associated with FLCLASS Term Series is reinvestment risk in the event a financial institution goes into receivership. However, the collateral is secured to protect principal and interest through maturity or the resolution of the institution’s closure, mitigating potential losses.
FLCLASS Term Series investments exceeding FDIC/NCUA insurance limits, collateral can take the form of:
• Pledged securities, such as municipal bonds or government agency securities, which are safekept through a third-party custodian.
• FHLB Letters of Credit (LOC), which are a direct obligation of the Federal Home Loan Bank, payable upon demand. This provides an alternative to pledging highly liquid securities by utilizing illiquid assets like loans while ensuring immediate liquidity and security for the depositor.
At maturity, the principal and earned interest from your investment in FLCLASS Term Series are returned to your account within the fund. Participants can then choose to reinvest in a new Term Series or have the funds distributed according to their cash flow needs.
The Term Series pool is not rated; however, they are fully collateralized through FDIC/NCUA insurance, FHLB LOCs, or pledged securities. This structure provides principal protection similar to rated instruments.
FLCLASS Term Series is designed for municipalities, schools, special districts, and other local government agencies. These entities typically have predictable revenue cycles from tax proceeds and user fees, making Term an ideal solution for fixed-term, fixed-rate investments that align with their cash flow and financial planning objective.
